It's already time for everyone to get ready for the Confirmation Retreat! It is up to you to make the time an exciting and meaningful one. Therefore, in preparing for December 11-13, 2009, an important retreat activity involves an extensive and complex project on your part.
Read all SIX steps thoroughly. You need to read everything before you begin. Please start on this project immediately. We will not accept incomplete projects. Everyone is required to have a brown bag project for the retreat. Please Contact if you have any questions.
We expect everyone to complete this project, to do it well, and to bring your project with you on the due date of November 22. If we have any concerns, we will provide suggestions for improvement and return it to you with expectations of it being finished without delay.
!!!Supplies Needed
For this project you will need one sturdy, large brown bag, art supplies (markers, pens, glue, scissors, etc.), and other things described in the following steps.
!!!STEP ONE
Spend a significant amount of time thinking about the important events, people and circumstances of your life. Then ask someone you trust and who knows you well, to tell you what and who has influenced you in a significant way. Make a list of twenty (20) important events, people and circumstances in your life. Save this list to put on your brown bag project.
!!!STEP TWO
Make a life line chart that begins with your date of birth and your full name (first - middle - last names). Divide the chart into three sections:
# birth to age six
# age six to twelve
# age twelve to your present age.
Place significant life events on the chart. Place items above the life line that are happy, place things below that are sad. All things listed are significant and are growth points. Include this chart on your brown bag.
!!!STEP THREE
Select one (1) event you are willing to reflect on and share, and write a reflection about that event: What was the situation? Who was involved? What did you learn? How has it helped you? Include this reflection on your brown bag project.
!!!STEP FOUR
Get a large brown bag, cut it down the side and cut off the bottom so that it folds into a large rectangle. Look for personal and family photos that tell your story. Using the originals or copies of these photos, put them on one side of the bag, around your life line chart. In addition, on the same side of the bag, include pictures from magazines or draw symbols or images that you feel express who you are. Fasten your pictures in a way that allows you to fold your brown bag when you are carrying it.
!!!STEP FIVE
On the other side of the bag, attach or draw pictures that indicate what you dream your future will be like. Attach your list of twenty (20) important events, people and circumstances from step one. Attach the reflection paper from step three.
!!!STEP SIX
# Look over your brown bag project to be sure you have completed every requirement (brown bag with list of twenty important events/people/circumstances and reflection paper attached).
# Bring your project with you to class on November 9. Find a way to carry it safely. We will take your project to the retreat for you.
# Be thankful for the time and effort you have taken to prepare.
# Ask God for the strength, wisdom and sincerity to share your project on the retreat.
!!!First Class: September 12
The first Confirmation session will be Sunday, September 12 at 3:30 p.m. SHARP in the Parish Hall. At least one parent per family is asked to attend. Contact if you have any questions.

| 7:00 pm |Music practice|
| 7:15 pm |Candidates & Sponsors process in|
|7:30 pm |Mass begins (approximately 1.5 to 2 hours)|
!!!!Seating
Seats will be reserved for candidates and one of their sponsors.
!!!!Readings
Please take the time to review the readings before the ceremony to enrich your experience
First Reading: Ezekiel 36: 24-28
Second Reading: 1 Corinthians 12: 4-13
Gospel: Luke 8: 4-10a, 11b-15
!!!!Memorizing Responses
These responses occur at the time of anointing, during the Rite of Confirmation Mass.
Sponsors: When you stand in front of the bishop or priest who administers the Sacrament of Confirmation, you need to speak in a normal tone of voice to present your candidate with his or her Confirmation name. That name will be on your candidate's nametag.
Candidates: Candidates must memorize these responses. While tracing a cross on your forehead with the Sacred Chrism oil, the bishop or priest, will say "(Your confirmation name or baptismal name), be sealed with the Gift of the Holy Spirit", you respond with "Amen". The bishop or Priest will continue with "Peace be with you", you respond with "And also with you."
!!!!Pictures/Videos
* It is more important to pray for who is being anointed at the time of the Rite, than to focus through a camera. The Holy Spirit is invisible; receiving it is a spiritual moment that cannot be truly captured on film. The Rite is not a performance – it is a time of blessing, prayer and worship.
* Picture-taking (digital or film) and video recording cannot and should not interfere with the spiritual reverence and respect that the Mass deserves. Picture taking (without flash) must be from one's seat - do not move out of your seat at any time during Mass. Video photography must take place from one’s seat, preferably from a tripod.
* You may take as many photos as you like after the ceremony.
* For details about cell phones and picture taking, see the dl/ceremony_info.pdf
!!!!Dress Code
Since the Rite of Confirmation is a sacrament that occurs only once in a lifetime, a certain dress code is to be followed by all candidates and all sponsors. Candidates and sponsors must wear proper semi-formal attire similar to clothing for other important life events. Please review what is acceptable dress for both male and female candidates and sponsors listed below. If there is something you are not sure of, please contact the confirmation teachers.
Do not wear your cell phone, bluetooth devices, headphones or mp3 players.
Please use common sense when choosing what to wear. If you'd like to wear the feast color of Confirmation, it is the color white (red).
Males: It is preferred that you wear a suit, or blazer and slacks, with a dress shirt and a tie. Dress shirt hems must tucked in, not hanging out. Ties, dress shirts, coats and slacks of any color are okay. Pants must come to your waist and over your hips. .
Formal ethnic or cultural wear is also proper.
Please refrain from wearing flip flops, sandals or tennis shoes. Please do not wear saggy pants. Polo shirts, t-shirts, hoodies, and fleece tops should be avoided and absolutely no denim.
Females: It is preferred that you wear a dress. Dresses, skirts, tops, slacks or suits of any color are okay. Shoulders must be covered for sleeveless or spaghetti strap outfits. Tops must completely cover your stomach.
Formal ethnic or cultural wear is also proper.
You need to wear shoes that allow you to walk around safely and comfortably. No flip flops, slippers or tennis shoes. No t-shirts, hoodies, fleece or tank tops, no low cut or midriff outfits. No mini or micro-skirts, no low-rise pants and absolutely no denim.

// //Type: Macro
// //Description: email lets you list a "email" address without displaying it as readable text. This helps prevent your email address from being harvested by search engines and other web crawlers that read your page's contents. Using email, you type in the words "at" and "dot" instead of the punctuation symbols and add spaces inbetween words to disguise your address. However, email will display your email address in a web browser so that humans can read it. And email turns the address into a hyperlink that can be clicked to send you an instant email.
// //Syntax: << {} >>
// //Example 1: <<email sample at nowhere dot com>> (standard)
// //Example 2: <<email multiple dot sample at somewhere dot nowhere dot com>> (multiple dots)
// //Example 3: <<email sample at nowhere dot com "?subject=Submission&body=Type your message here.">> (with optional parameters)
// //Directions: <<tiddler MacroDirections>>
// //Notes: You can use the optional email parameters to stipulate a subject or message body for the message. Most (not all) email clients will use this information to construct the email message.

Quickly make any tiddler content into an expandable 'slider' panel, without needing to create a separate tiddler to contain the slider content. Optional syntax allows default to open, custom button label/tooltip and automatic blockquote formatting.
You can also 'nest' these sliders as deep as you like (see complex nesting example below), so that expandable 'tree-like' hierarchical displays can be created. This is most useful when converting existing in-line text content to create in-line annotations, footnotes, context-sensitive help, or other subordinate information displays.
For more details, please click on a section headline below:
++++!!!!![Configuration]>
Debugging messages for 'lazy sliders' deferred rendering:
<<option chkDebugLazySliderDefer>> show debugging alert when deferring slider rendering
<<option chkDebugLazySliderRender>> show debugging alert when deferred slider is actually rendered
===
++++!!!!![Usage]>
When installed, this plugin adds new wiki syntax for embedding 'slider' panels directly into tiddler content. Use {} and {} to delimit the slider content. Additional optional syntax elements let you specify
*default to open
*cookiename
*heading level
*floater (with optional CSS width value)
*mouse auto rollover
*custom class/label/tooltip/accesskey
*automatic blockquote
*deferred rendering
The complete syntax, using all options, is:
//{{{
++++(cookiename)!!!!!^width^*{{class{[label=key|tooltip]}}}>...
content goes here
===
//}}}
where:
* {} (or {}) and {}^^
marks the start and end of the slider definition, respectively. When the extra {} is used, the slider will be open when initially displayed.^^
* {}^^
saves the slider opened/closed state, and restores this state whenever the slider is re-rendered.^^
* {} through {}^^
displays the slider label using a formatted headline (Hn) style instead of a button/link style^^
* {} (or just {})^^
makes the slider 'float' on top of other content rather than shifting that content downward. 'width' must be a valid CSS value (e.g., "30em", "180px", "50%", etc.). If omitted, the default width is "auto" (i.e., fit to content)^^
* {}^^
automatically opens/closes slider on "rollover" as well as when clicked^^
* {{{{{class{[label=key|tooltip]}}}}}}^^
uses custom label/tooltip/accesskey. {{{{{class{...}}}}}}, {} and {} are optional. 'class' is any valid CSS class name, used to style the slider label text. 'key' must be a single letter only. Default labels/tootips are: ">" (more) and "<" (less), with no default access key assignment.^^
* {} //(without the quotes)//^^
automatically adds blockquote formatting to slider content^^
* {} //(without the quotes)//^^
defers rendering of closed sliders until the first time they are opened. //Note: deferred rendering may produce unexpected results in some cases. Use with care.//^^
//Note: to make slider definitions easier to read and recognize when editing a tiddler, newlines immediately following the {} 'start slider' or preceding the {} 'end slider' sequence are automatically supressed so that excess whitespace is eliminated from the output.//
===
++++!!!!![Examples]>
simple in-line slider:

use a custom label and tooltip:

import (or copy/paste) the following tiddlers into your document:
NestedSlidersPlugin (tagged with <<tag systemConfig>>)
<<<
!!!!!Revision History
<<<
2006.07.28 - 2.0.0 added custom class syntax around label/tip/key syntax: {{{{{classname{[label=key|tip]}}}}}}
2006.07.25 - 1.9.3 when parsing slider, save default open/closed state in button element, then in onClickNestedSlider(), if slider state matches saved default, instead of saving cookie, delete it. Significantly reduces the 'cookie overhead' when default slider states are used.
2006.06.29 - 1.9.2 in onClickNestedSlider(), when setting focus to first control, skip over type="hidden"
2006.06.22 - 1.9.1 added panel.defaultPanelWidth to save requested panel width, even after resizing has changed the style value
2006.05.11 - 1.9.0 added optional '^width^' syntax for floating sliders and '=key' syntax for setting an access key on a slider label
2006.05.09 - 1.8.0 in onClickNestedSlider(), when showing panel, set focus to first child input/textarea/select element
2006.04.24 - 1.7.8 in adjustSliderPos(), if floating panel is contained inside another floating panel, subtract offset of containing panel to find correct position
2006.02.16 - 1.7.7 corrected deferred rendering to account for use-case where show/hide state is tracked in a cookie
2006.02.15 - 1.7.6 in adjustSliderPos(), ensure that floating panel is positioned completely within the browser window (i.e., does not go beyond the right edge of the browser window)
2006.02.04 - 1.7.5 add 'var' to unintended global variable declarations to avoid FireFox 1.5.0.1 crash bug when assigning to globals
2006.01.18 - 1.7.4 only define adjustSliderPos() function if it has not already been provided by another plugin. This lets other plugins 'hijack' the function even when they are loaded first.
2006.01.16 - 1.7.3 added adjustSliderPos(place,btn,panel,panelClass) function to permit specialized logic for placement of floating panels. While it provides improved placement for many uses of floating panels, it exhibits a relative offset positioning error when used within *nested* floating panels. Short-term workaround is to only adjust the position for 'top-level' floaters.
2006.01.16 - 1.7.2 added button property to slider panel elements so that slider panel can tell which button it belongs to. Also, re-activated and corrected animation handling so that nested sliders aren't clipped by hijacking Slider.prototype.stop so that "overflow:hidden" can be reset to "overflow:visible" after animation ends
2006.01.14 - 1.7.1 added optional "^" syntax for floating panels. Defines new CSS class, ".floatingPanel", as an alternative for standard in-line ".sliderPanel" styles.
2006.01.14 - 1.7.0 added optional "*" syntax for rollover handling to show/hide slider without requiring a click (Based on a suggestion by tw4efl)
2006.01.03 - 1.6.2 When using optional "!" heading style, instead of creating a clickable "Hn" element, create an "A" element inside the "Hn" element. (allows click-through in SlideShowPlugin, which captures nearly all click events, except for hyperlinks)
2005.12.15 - 1.6.1 added optional "..." syntax to invoke deferred ('lazy') rendering for initially hidden sliders
removed checkbox option for 'global' application of lazy sliders
2005.11.25 - 1.6.0 added optional handling for 'lazy sliders' (deferred rendering for initially hidden sliders)
2005.11.21 - 1.5.1 revised regular expressions: if present, a single newline //preceding// and/or //following// a slider definition will be suppressed so start/end syntax can be place on separate lines in the tiddler 'source' for improved readability. Similarly, any whitespace (newlines, tabs, spaces, etc.) trailing the 'start slider' syntax or preceding the 'end slider' syntax is also suppressed.
2005.11.20 - 1.5.0 added (cookiename) syntax for optional tracking and restoring of slider open/close state
2005.11.11 - 1.4.0 added !!!!! syntax to render slider label as a header (Hn) style instead of a button/link style
2005.11.07 - 1.3.0 removed alternative syntax {} and {} (so they can be used by other
formatting extensions) and simplified/improved regular expressions to trim multiple excess newlines
2005.11.05 - 1.2.1 changed name to NestedSlidersPlugin
more documentation
2005.11.04 - 1.2.0 added alternative character-mode syntax {} and {}
tweaked "eat newlines" logic for line-mode {} and {} syntax
2005.11.03 - 1.1.1 fixed toggling of default tooltips ("more..." and "less...") when a non-default button label is used
code cleanup, added documentation
2005.11.03 - 1.1.0 changed delimiter syntax from {} and {} to {} and {}
changed name to EasySlidersPlugin
2005.11.03 - 1.0.0 initial public release

//Saint Anne// Youth Ministry is open to youth entering the ninth grade, or for those in high school who have not had youth ministry experience previously. Our purpose is to build a community of young people examining issues at the forefront of their minds & lives, to encourage growth socially, provide interaction through community service projects, and faithfully deepen the relationship with
God.
In April all the students are invited to register for the sacrament of Confirmation preparation program, however this is not a requirement of any student. @@In order to register for Confirmation, you must be registered for and have participated in the //Saint Anne// Youth Ministry meetings and one Youth Ministry retreat.@@

Jim Soltau++++[Jim's greeting. . .]
[>img[Jim|media/jms.jpg]]Hi Everyone! My name is Jim Soltau, and I try to coordinate all of this craziness in Youth Ministry, Confirmation and Emmaus Peer Ministry here at St. Anne's! This last August I was lucky enough to celebrate coordinating Youth Ministry for 26 years at St. Anne's. . . that's a long time! But the great part of ministry is that it doesn't stay the same, and every year creates new blessings and opportunities.
With the beginning of the 2009-2010 Confirmation program, all of us - myself and the rest of the Confirmation staff - are here to help and journey with you in this great exploration of our faith.
If there's ever anything I can do or if you have a question to ask. . . please drop in the Contact
===
Alfred ⇒ +++[Alfred's greeting. . .]
[>img[Alfred|media/amaj.jpg]]I've been on the confirmation staff for almost a decade now and have had the honor of being on the confirmation retreat staff for twice as long. I am a naturally a quiet and introverted person. Through my involvement in youth ministry and confirmation, I've learned when and how: to be loud and to lead; to be quiet and to give space; and to listen and to follow. I continue to serve in this ministry because it is important to provide a space for young people to feel safe to think, share, and reflect on their lives. It's been wonderful to see current and past students get involved in peer and other ministry at Saint Anne's and to follow them as they go to college to lead in the classroom and community. I look forward to meeting and getting to know you this year.

Chris ⇒ +++[Chris' greeting. . .]
[>img[Chris|media/cm.jpg]]Hey everyone, my name is Chris. I’ve been involved with the church since I was younger through Emmaus, Youth Choir, and the Lector Ministry. Since coming back from college I wanted to get back involved with St. Anne. This is my third year teaching Confirmation and I’m really excited about it!
Just a little about myself: I recently graduated from UC Berkeley. Right now I am going to graduate school at Cal State East Bay, trying to get my Masters in Education. I will also be working in the New Haven District, so say hi if you see me around! I'm a big sports fan, especially the Warriors and Niners. I also did a lot of work helping students get into college, so feel free to ask me any questions about that. I look forward to meeting and getting to know you this year.
===
Emilyn ⇒ +++[Emilyn's greeting. . .]
[>img[Emilyn|media/er.jpg]]Hello! My name is Emilyn Ramos and this will be my first year teaching Confirmation. I am so excited to have the opportunity to work with you during this special time in your life. Before joining the Confirmation staff I was in Emmaus for 7 years and I absolutely loved it! This year will be a learning experience not just for you, but for me as well. Some of the most important life lessons I've learned have come from working with the youth, and for that I will always be grateful. St. Anne's holds a special place in my heart because it has enriched my life in so many ways. I know that Confirmation will do the same for you by providing many opportunities to explore your faith and grow. It is going to be a great year!
A few things about myself: I am a diehard 49ers fan. I stay true to my green and gold (even if the A's are in last place, we still got it goin' on). I graduated from UC Berkeley. I currently teach 1st grade at Eastin Elementary.
I can't wait to meet you all!! :)
===
Ernest ⇒ +++[Ernest's greeting. . .]
[>img[Ernest|media/ec.jpg]]Hey! My name is Ernest Ray Capalla! I've been real active at St Anne's Since I was a Junior in High School. I started off in Emmaus Peer Ministry, and Now I'm a Confirmation teacher, and CCD Teacher. I'm also a Eucharistic Minister for Youth Mass. I love being a catechist because as well as teaching our students, i learn so much from them too!
Other Than Church activities, I'm a Hip Hop Music Fan. I'm also a fan of mtv shows such as ABDC, RWRR challenges, and making the band. And Of Course I'm a big Oakland A's Fan.
Something interesting about me? I've had the pleasure of meeting a good amount of celebrities such as Alyssa Milano, all of Danity Kane, Russell Simmons, Reverend Run, and Alot of ABDC crews. ( plus much more)
I love meeting new people! So if you see me around and/or on myspace, say whats up!
Hope you have a Great Confirmation Year!

Harland ⇒ +++[Harland's greeting. . .]
[>img[Harland|media/hp.jpg]]Hello all! I am extremely excited about learning and working with all of you. I am an avid sports fan, Harry Potter enthusiast, and love playing basketball and lifting weights on my spare time. It is my genuine hope, that during my lifetime the Warriors win an NBA championship and that the A’s bring back the glory days. However, only time will tell. I’ve been looking for a way to get more involved with the Church aside from attending weekly mass. Needless to say, I am very glad that I was given this very special opportunity. Working with youth has always been a passion of mine and it seems like perfect fate that I am teaching this year once again. I participated in both St. Anne’s Youth Ministry and Confirmation way back in the day and am looking forward to another fun and exciting year!
===
Jason ⇒ +++[Jason's greeting. . .]
[>img[Jason|media/ja.jpg]]Hello! First of all, I’d like to congratulate the candidates for continuing their faith journey. I wish each of you a very spiritual, uplifting, and enlightening confirmation experience. We are going to have good time this year!
About me… I’ve been a confirmation teacher for almost a decade here at St. Anne. I’ve been an active member of this parish since I was your age. I’ve served the church in a variety of different roles such as youth facilitator, Eucharistic minister, festival volunteer, and confirmation teacher. Why? Because the Catholic community is truly something wonderful. You can see it in the hearts and actions of all the good people who serve St Anne’s and it ministries. These people are my motivation for staying involved. They drive my desire to become a better person. If I’ve learned anything from about Catholicism, I’ve learned to see the goodness in everyone. Trust me… there is a lot of goodness at St. Anne’s. I know you’ll see it too.
I look forward to meeting you, so don’t be afraid to say “hello.”

Jeffrey //aka "Jeffy"// ⇒ +++[Jeffy's greeting. . .]
[>img[Jeffy|media/jeffya.jpg]]I welcome YOU to the 2008-2009 Confirmation Program. I hope that YOU enjoy the program and that WE, the Staff, make you laugh, cry and make it interesting for YOU. The Youth Ministry program (T.E.A.M., Emmaus) would not be as successful as it is right now if it weren't for Jim's vision of a ministry for the youth. Youth Ministry has made new friends and great, long lasting friendships that will last for a long time. Hopefully, YOU will be taking our places and helping the next generation of youth.
As for me. . . St. Anne has been apart of my life since I was in 3rd grade. I have been involved with Youth Ministry since 1989. . . that's ?????**%$#@#$, you can do the math. St. Anne's Parish did have a Ministry that catered to teens. With the help of a Jim, myself and a few dedicated teens, started a small ministry of young teens called T.E.A.M ( Teens Engaged in Active Ministry).T.E.A.M., now called Emmaus, has helped the YOUTH of our parish
understand the meaning of our Catholic Faith in a way that THEY(youth) can understand.
When I'm not teaching Confirmation, I'm a Eucharistic Minister for the Youth Mass and 6pm Mass, as well as a Coordinator for Eucharistic Ministers. I was fortunate to meet Pope John Paul II in 1993, during a YOUTH DAY celebration, in Denver, CO. I also help with CYO (Catholic Youth Organization) in coaching Boys and Girls Basketball. I too was involved with CYO when I was in the #rd Grade…..
===
Maricel //aka "Iya"// ⇒ +++[Iya's greeting. . .]
[>img[Iya|media/mh.jpg]]Hi! I am Maricel Hernandez better known by many as "iya" (ee-yah). I LOVE to eat (almost anything). I work REALLY hard at the things I do. I like to make/create things and I treasure being young (even though I may not be THAT young).
This will be my first year teaching on the confirmation staff. Previous to this year, I've enjoyed service in our St. Anne youth ministry through such activities as the infamous EMMAUS peer ministry, teaching CCD, altar serving, youth choir, and young adult choir. I am headed into the 2009-2010 confirmation year with a lot of excitement and enthusiasm. I am hoping to bring to the table good vibes, a love for community, an open mind, and an ever-growing faith. What's most exciting is the idea that I get to meet all of you. OH! the many stories I am sure we will share and create, and the pure satisfaction of just learning something new, from someone new. Being a part of such a strong and supportive ministry has meant a lot to me these past years. I thank God for the opportunity to lead and serve with such a talented staff as we all can help each other explore his greatness.
===
Marilyn ⇒ +++[Marilyn's greeting. . .]
[>img[Marilyn|media/msb.jpg]]Hello everyone!! My name is Marilyn and this will be my first year teaching Confirmation and let me tell you something... I am super excited to be be a part of your Faith journey! My service at St. Anne started early as an altar server back when i was in middle school throughout high school, then I got involved in Emmaus as a peer minister, then later joined youth choir. I'm so excited to be involved again with St. Anne, and especially as a Confirmation teacher, to be in complete service, to be a part of something bigger than me, and to be outward focused.
I am looking forward to being a part of an amazing staff this year, and getting to you all throughout the program. I am committed to you all having a great experience in your journey of Faith. I will be here to listen, to teach, to challenge, to lead, and to inspire.
===
Noy //aka "Chris"// ⇒ +++[Noy's greeting. . .]
[>img[Noy|media/nh.jpg]]Greetings all! My name as I was born unto this earth is Christopher Capacia Hernandez, but I am better known with the the nickname of "Noy." With this being my first year on the Confirmation staff I am looking forward to sharing this experience alongside my faith, personal goals and morals, as well as an open mind and heart to what anyone and everyone is willing to share during the year. I am enthusiastic to work with this amazing staff of twelve as well as my students and all the other ninety plus students in the program! Currently a Eucharistic Minister, Sacristan, Lector and Choir director, I am never short of activities as long as I have the time to commit and serve the community, and I encourage all to do the same. I have grown and learned so much through religion and I continue to do so as I take on this new face of ministry.
It may be surprising for some to hear, but I am a shy person with many ideas that flow slowly out from my finger tips! I have high ambitions and love to challenge myself and others to make ourselves better instruments of God's works. My life is run by the idea of using "creativity" to push through life's daily tasks. My interests fall into the art realm of performing or visual and spacial art, and those who know me well will tell you that "Disney" is my biggest inspiration!
//"We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we're curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths"//~Walt Disney
===
Rommel & Audrey ⇒ +++[Rommel & Audrey's greeting. . .]
[>img[Rommel & Audrey|media/rad.jpg]]Hello Everyone! We are Rommel and Audrey (you guess who is who) and we are new to the Confirmation staff this year and are excited to go through this journey with you. We are sure that we will learn as much as you will throughout our time together. For both of us, Confirmation began our path to discovering the Catholic Faith on a conscious level. We have learned how to make it part of our daily lives and our faith has helped to greatly shape the people that we are today.
A little about us: We are both products of the Saint Anne Confirmation Class of before you were born. We are lifelong friends, and are married with two boys…..but don’t hold that against us. Audrey is currently a teacher in the Oakland Diocese School District and I am an entrepreneur and have a career in the insurance industry. We are fans of any sport that our kids are involved in which are currently soccer, basketball and golf. We have lived in Union City most of our lives and look forward to giving back to the community that has given us so much in our lives.

Because stewardship is learned at an early age, we are including in the Preparation program a stewardship element, which the students began during their Youth Ministry year. Each candidate will receive ten (10) envelopes to participate in our Youth Stewardship Program, one for each month from September through June. We would recommend each candidate make an offering of $5.00 per month. These donations are divided and sent to different charities supported by St. Anne Youth Ministry and the Confirmation program.
The charities supported by St. Anne Youth Ministry and the Confirmation program include:

* http://www.christianchildrensfund.org/content.aspx?id=555

The Confirmation preparation program at St. Anne’s is a two-year process, with the first year completed as a participant in the //Saint Anne// Youth Ministry program. Students may begin the enrollment process for Confirmation as early as spring of their freshman year, @@provided@@ they have previously registered for Youth Ministry and attended the fall or spring retreat. The process begins with the enrollment interviews in May, and a decision is made at that time if you would like to enter the program. Those deciding on enrollment are given a candidate agreement that is returned with baptismal & sponsor information, along with a registration fee.
The immediate preparation for the sacrament begins in the fall. The Confirmation sessions meet twice a month on Sunday’s from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. In addition to regular class sessions, the program includes a weekend retreat, ministry projects, sponsor-candidate sessions, and the celebrations of different Rites.
